Young doctors in UK without jobs, BMA warns

According to the British Medical Association( BMA) report , many doctors will not be able to find the jobs next week when their contract will end. some doctors will choose the option of either leaving the country or profession .Others will try to find the locum or non training jobs.

One of the major reason for the increased jobs application is from overseas doctors plus the reduction in the number of the training posts.

Overseas young doctors from India and Pakistan seems to be at the receiving end. They have to normally wait for the 8 -12 months to get the job after passing the PLAB 2 exam which is conducted by the GMC.

GMC  should stop conducting the PLAB test  but it looks like that they are earning quite a lot of money from these poor doctors .

Malaria prevention and detection through wristwatch.

Malaria is a deadly disease and over many centuries millions of people have been killed especially in Africa. Many scientists are working hard to invent a vaccine for malaria but a very unique invention by Gervan Lubbe of wrist watch to detect and kill the malaria parasites in blood can be very useful. But  we need to assess the efficiency of this device first before making too much expectations.

Cons of this device are pricking of the wrist 4 times a day to detect the parasite within the blood and its cost.

Pricking of needle make it vulnerable for transmitting HIV to other people if its used by more than one person. HIV/AIDS is also pandemic in African continent.
